Major Morgan

Major Morgan was a music device made by Playskool.

It was designed to look like a marching band member, with a blue uniform and a nice red hat. It featured 16 separately numbered squares, each of which produced a different tone when pressed.

In the box you also got a few pre-printed cards. These cards could be slotted into Major Morgan and used to play a selection of well known songs.

I like that Major Morgan was designed to be played with by children aged between 3 and 9. Always struck me as an odd cut-off for an age, 9. If placed in the hands of a 10 year old, would it explode? Possibly, yes.

Never had a go on one of these, and I’m not sure my life would be improved that much if I did.
